Possessed by Christ

We are His own. I am not my own. "You are not your own. You are bought with a price." We are called, drawn, set apart - for Him. We are His reward. He came, lived, suffered, died, and rose again so that we could be called His own.

When we pray for those who yet believe we are praying from the confidence of ownership. Return to Him what is His. It has already been declared, the price has already been paid, the deeds have already been signed and completed.

In agony we may cry, "Already and yet we still don't see." But in our next breath, "God, answer us with Your promise of greater grace, coming from a God who yearns jealousy. Give us eyes to see their return and faith to see that which is unseen!"

What greater task than to seek and to save that which is lost - those who are His possession. They've scattered, wandered, walked away, but they are still His. So let us pray to the One whose eyes run to and fro across the earth. None escape the eyes of the Lord. Where can we go to escape His presence? Even the darkest depths of death in sin, this is not too far for Him. For, "the earth is the Lord's, and all its fullness, the world and those who dwell therein."

Possessed by Christ! Called His own! Truly then what can stand against us, what can keep us back from His love? Pray from the confidence of this place of ownership.

Pray for their return!

Pray on behalf of the One who suffered to make them His own.

Pray that He would receive His full reward. That none would be kept from Him.

Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: may they prosper who love You.
